Rajasthan: Amit Shah attacks Gehlot Government for creating world record of paper leaks and corruption

Union Home Minister Amit Shah hit out at the Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan Government over corruption on November 7 and said that it was only in Rajasthan that two and a half crores were confiscated from a Government officer.

“Nowhere in the country was there an incident where two and a half crore rupees and 8 kilo of gold were confiscated. What kind of Government are you running? “said Amit Shah.

Amit Shah was referring to the confiscation of 8 kg of gold valued at Rs. 4.84 crore from two lockers of a Rajasthan Government official OP Vishwakarma and 1.5 kg of gold valued at Rs 1.02 crore from the locker of Rajasthan Administrative Services official Amitabh Kaushik in the Centre’s Jal Jeevan Mission scam by Enforcement Directorate on September 13.

“A scam of two hundred crores in the name of Kali Singh Dam, a scam of hundred crores in poor Rajasthan; a scam of sixty-six thousand crores in Uday Sagar Lake worth two thousand crores; a scam of four hundred and fifty crores in the pension of Bhujdar State; and the extent of scams has increased to such an extent that now even the investigators are burdened, ” he added.

Amit Shah alleged that the Gehlot-led Rajasthan Government had failed to deliver water to people as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission.

“The biggest problem in Rajasthan is supplying drinking water to villages. Modi ji made a plan for the entire country that tap water would be provided to every poor person in every house, but here, in the name of the Jal Jeevan Mission, twenty thousand crore rupees were spent, and water was not allowed to reach people’s houses,” he said.

“Within two and a half years, if the BJP comes to power, tap water will reach to every house in Rajasthan,” said Amit Shah.

Speaking on the blackout of electricity, he said, “Ashok Gehlot ji is called a magician by his Congress leaders. He has done magic; he caused an electricity blackout in Rajasthan. The maximum cut of electricity takes place in Rajasthan.” He also alleged that the State Government had created a world record in paper leaks.

“A world record was created by the Congress Government in terms of the record of paper leaks. Three papers are leaked every year. Every paper of the Public Service Commission is leaked in the State. More than fourteen papers leaked in four years have served to corrupt the future of lakhs of youth. Constable recruitment paper leak, high court LDC recruitment paper leak, medical officers paper leak, CHO paper leak, Librarian recruitment paper leak, forest guard recruitment paper leak, etc are examples of Congress Government functioning,” the Home Minister said.

“Gehlot did not say anything in paper leaks. Gehlot ji, a young man, works hard for two and a half to three years for one paper. And by leaking the paper, you provide employment to the Congress party’s sycophants,” Amit Shah further said.

“We will make such arrangements that there will be no paper leak in Rajasthan, ” he said.

In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress won 99 seats, while the BJP won 73 seats in the 200-member house. Ashok Gehlot came to power with the support of BSP MLAs and independents.

Rajasthan will go to polls on November 25, the counting of which will take place on December 5, along with four other State assembly elections.
