Harman Singh Kapoor, a Sikh restaurant owner in London, recently experienced a distressing incident when his car was vandalized and he was physically assaulted by Khalistan supporters. The video of this assault quickly circulated on social media. Kapoor has since voiced his response to the attack, expressing concern about the increasing activity of pro-Khalistan factions in the country.

Reflecting on the situation, Kapoor stated, “I’ve been a resident of the United Kingdom for 26 years. The Khalistani movement has gained momentum here in the past 1.5 years. I shared a video addressing this, and it garnered significant attention online. For over nine months, I’ve been subjected to threats and attacks. They demanded I remove the clip and apologize, but I stood my ground.”

Kapoor believed he was secure in London, but he discovered he was mistaken. “They menaced me online, causing me immense mental distress. Then, on February 25, 2023, they targeted me. It was fellow Sikhs who came to harm me. They’re casting disparaging remarks against India, Hindus, and Sikhs. I long for an end to this conflict,” he asserted.

He continued, expressing his disappointment with law enforcement, “The police took note of my complaint but failed to take any action. The assailants remain at large, and the authorities have not taken them into custody. It seems Khalistanis hold political sway there. When a citizen is attacked, the offender should be apprehended, but in my case, the police did not detain these Khalistan supporters.”

On September 30th, unidentified assailants carried out two separate attacks against Harman Kapoor and his family, targeting both his vehicle and damaging parts of their property. The attackers also covered Kapoor’s car in red paint, leaving them shaken and fearful.

It is worth noting that earlier this year, Kapoor’s family had to go into hiding due to numerous threats of sexual assault and death they received for speaking out against Khalistani extremism. Shockingly, despite the ongoing threats, the authorities chose to deactivate the family’s panic alarm just days before the recent incidents.

Despite repeated assurances from the police and the implementation of advanced security measures, the Sikh extremists affiliated with Khalistan continued to target Kapoor’s family. Having been subjected to three separate attacks, the family no longer felt secure in London. This sense of vulnerability was exacerbated when Khalistani radicals not only targeted Kapoor’s restaurant, “Rangrez, the Taste of Punjab,” but also swarmed the Indian High Commission in London just days later.

In response to these harrowing events, Kapoor took to social media, sharing a video that rapidly amassed two million views in just two days. Unfortunately, this also attracted a wave of trolls who harassed him both over the phone and online.
