Bihar: Union Minister Giriraj Singh predicts PBJP’s victory in State assembly polls in 2025

Union Minister Giriraj Singh, a prominent member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), made a bold prediction on Thursday during a public gathering in Bihar. Singh asserted that the BJP is poised to form the government in Bihar after the 2025 assembly polls. This statement comes as a significant political declaration in the state known for its dynamic political landscape.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh, speaking at an event commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of BJP leader Kailashpati Mishra in Bihar’s capital, Patna, confidently proclaimed BJP’s electoral victory in the upcoming 2025 Bihar assembly polls. He echoed the sentiments of BJP National President JP Nadda, who also expressed optimism about the party’s performance in the state.

“As Naddaji (BJP National President JP Nadda) said, the BJP will form the government in Bihar in 2025. Also, the party will come up with the maximum number of seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls,” Singh declared, setting the tone for the BJP’s electoral ambitions in Bihar.

JP Nadda’s Critique of the Grand Alliance

Earlier in the same event, BJP Chief JP Nadda launched a scathing critique of the Grand Alliance in Bihar, accusing its leadership of engaging in “corruption” and “appeasement politics.” Nadda’s remarks underscored the BJP’s determination to challenge the existing political order in the state.

“The leadership here (in Bihar) is filled with corruption…They are busy with appeasement politics… It is time to say goodbye to such governments, and it is time to bring the BJP (government to power),” Nadda emphatically stated, making it clear that the BJP sees itself as a force for change in Bihar.

BJP’s Commitment to Women’s Reservation Bill

Highlighting the BJP’s commitment to governance and legislative action, JP Nadda pointed out the swift passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He contrasted this achievement with the stagnation of the bill during previous Congress-led UPA governments at the Centre.

“In UPA government, the Women’s Reservation Bill was lying in Parliament…No one gave attention to it…Prime Minister Modi passed the bill in three days…,” Nadda emphasized, positioning the BJP as a party capable of taking decisive action on key issues.

The Political Landscape in Bihar

Bihar’s political landscape has witnessed significant shifts in recent years. After the 2020 state assembly polls, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) led by Lalu Yadav secured 75 seats, while Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United (JDU) won 43 seats. The BJP, with 74 seats, was an alliance partner with the JDU, and Nitish Kumar assumed the role of Chief Minister.

However, in 2022, Bihar experienced a dramatic political realignment when Nitish Kumar ended his alliance with the BJP and joined the grand alliance with the RJD, known as ‘Mahagathbandhan.’ This move was prompted by several issues Nitish Kumar had with the BJP.

Subsequently, RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. These political developments have set the stage for an intriguing political landscape leading up to the 2025 Bihar assembly polls.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh’s proclamation of the BJP’s intention to form the government in Bihar in 2025, along with JP Nadda’s critique of the existing political leadership, marks a significant moment in Bihar’s political discourse. The BJP is positioning itself as a party committed to governance and change, emphasizing its past accomplishments and future aspirations. As Bihar prepares for another electoral battle in 2025, the state’s political landscape remains dynamic and open to transformation.
