Tamil Nadu: ‘Sinister move to destroy Sanatan Dharma,’ says RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale

RSS Sarkaryavah (General Secretary) Dattatreya Hosabale on October 3 said that there is a big conspiracy that is being hatched by those who are speaking against the Sanatan Dharma. He was participating in the 108th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Chinmayananda in Chennai. Hosbale said, “Many don’t understand Sanatana Dharma; it is not ignorance but a conspiracy, a calculated agenda.”

The controversy was kicked off by Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who at a conference on ‘annihilation of Sanatana Dharma’, compared it to dengue, malaria and Covid and called for its eradication.
Dattatreya quoted Aurobindo Ghosh as saying that “Sanatana Dharma is the nationalism of our country.”

Dattatreya Hosabale further said “ Sanatana Dharma is our nationalism but many misunderstood it. Both the RSS and the Chinmaya Mission are the same organisations. Freedom fighters kissed the noose by holding the Bhagavat Gita on their hands with a smile in their lips. They vowed to be reborn in this holy Bharat Bhoomi. It is a pity that students are not taught the history in its entirety in schools and colleges. Now the nation glows with pride. There has been an all round awakening among the people. RSS has been formed to rekindle the patriotism among the bhrathiyas. Nation does mean merely by boundary lines. Nation is nothing but it is an amalgamation of land area, people and the ancient culture being followed from time immemorial. That is called Hindu Rashtram. This is the basic principle and motive of the RSS. It tries to strengthen the same. It is encompassed dharma, soul, culture of the people and all. Sana Tana Dharma is our nationalism. But many misunderstood it. Creation of a pride Bharat is the main objective of the RSS”.

Of late the leaders of the Dravidian party that is the DMK have been too vocal against the Sanatan Dharma and this has not gone down well with the followers of Sanatan Dharma. Most of the Sanatanis have expressed their disappointment over the appeasement politics that is being followed by the DMK-led government.
