Border Security Force on September 28 organised ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ under the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign in border villages along the international border of Meghalaya.

“On September 28, 2023, honouring the martyrs of the Nation, the Seema Praharis of BSF Meghalaya organised the ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ under the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign in border villages along the international border of Meghalaya,” an official statement said.

The ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ is a heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices made by the valiant soldiers and citizens who have contributed to India’s independence and security.

Launched by the Government of India on September 1, 2023, to commemorate India’s 75th year of independence, this campaign has captured the essence of patriotism and national pride.

During the Amrit Kalash Yatra, soil was collected from the bordering villages of Lyngkhat, Pyrdwah, Umsyiem, Dawki, Kongwang etc., in the East Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills districts. A large number of villagers enthusiastically participated in the event, displaying their patriotic fervour, the statement said.
