Pragjyotishpur Lit Fest 2023: “The word Bhartiya comes first and Muslim comes second,” says Rubika Liyaquat

The three days ‘In Search of Roots: Pragjyotishpur Literature Festival 2023,’ organised by Sankardev Education and Research Foundation (SERF) commenced on September 29 and will end on October 1 in the District Library and the Asom Sahitya Sabha premises in Assam’s capital city Guwahati.

With the idea of re-establishing India as the epicentre of literature and culture, the National level Literature Festival has been organised with the aim of restoring the proud historical background of the North East. The literary festival is named Pragjyotishpur Literature Festival (PLF) and its objective is to reconnect with the root. Present-day Assam is the central part of the ancient kingdom of Pragjyotishpur. Later, it was known as Kamrup. The ancient land holds a rich historical legacy and is mentioned in the Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata, as well as in Kalika Puran, Yogini Tantra, and Charyapada.

President of the working committee of Pragjyotishpur Literature Festival Phanindra Kr Debchaudhury and General Secretary Bikram Kalita have said that a host of writers, poets and dignitaries from the field of literature across the country would be participating in the three days literacy festival.

Pragjyotishpur Literature Festival will also be awarded eminent and new, promising writers to recognize their contribution to the literary field of Bharat. This accolade will inspire the eminent writers as well as the young talents to dedicate in the field of literature finding the roots of our civilisation. The theme of the fest is “In Search of Roots” aiming to educate the youth about our ancient heritage, culture and literature of the nation and particularly every region of the country. The fest would focus on history, culture, translation, literature, nature, cinema of Bharat. Besides that literary quiz and workshops will be organised to nurture the young talents.
