In what is called as a racist statement, the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) spokesperson Constantine Ravindran has again sparked a row over Sanatan followers. He made a racist remark against the people of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar by calling them less intelligent. He said they lack common sense and intelligence as they follow Sanatan Dharma.

The statement of the DMK’s spokesperson comes at a time when the state government is facing backlash after the Chief Minister’s son Udayanidhi Stalin made a bizarre comment against Sanatan Dharma at ‘Eradicate Sanatanam Conclave’ held in Chennai. Notably, he is now booked under sections of the IPC after a Supreme Court lawyer lodged a complaint against him.

Udayanidhi has compared Sanatan Dharma with diseases like Corona, Malaria, Dengue and others. He said, like these diseases need to be eradicated similarly, Sanatan Dharma needs to be eradicated.

While addressing a Sanatana eradication conference held in Chennai, Udhayanidhi Stalin said, “The title of this conference has been excellently coined. You’ve named it  ‘Abolish Sanatanam Conference’ and not ‘Oppose Sanatanam Conference’, so my best wishes to that. Mosquitoes, dengue, flu, malaria, corona – we should not oppose these things. They’ve to be eradicated completely. Same is the case with Santanam (Hinduism). Our first work should be to abolish/eradicate Sanatanam instead of opposing it. So, it is my request to you all to give an apt title to the meeting.”

Looks like DMK is on a spree against Hindus in the name of social justice. While responding to a question on whether Udhayanithi’s remarks on the eradication of Sanatana Dharma will affect the votes of I.N.D.I alliance, Constantine Ravindran said, “Certainly the statement of Udhayanidhi will have no negative impact. Did anyone from Kerala, Karnataka, or Andhra make any statements against Udhayanidhi? Nothing. Even in North India, did everyone accept Sanatana Dharma in places like West Bengal? West Bengal was ruled by Communists. Did Communists accept Sanatana Dharma?”

He added, “Only in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, do people follow Sanatanam. No one is educated there because Sanatanam flourished in those states. They do not have intelligence. They do not have rationality in their life. In these two states, there may be a small impact. But those two states will not affect us.”

Eradicate Sanatan Dharma conclave

The Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers and Artists Association organized the “Eradicate Sanatanam Conclave” at Kamarajar Chennai on 2 September 2023, akin to the anti-Hindu Dismantling Global Hindutva conference that was held in 2021. This conference, which openly discusses the destruction of Hindu Dharma, has raised serious questions about the political climate in the state.

The conference’s agenda was to discuss following topics:

  • Deadly History of Sanatan (Sanatan Dharma)
  • Sanatan and Women
  • Tamil Norms and Sanatan
  • Caste Theory & Conspiracy Theory
  • Tamil Music & Sanatan
  • Sanatan Imposition & Opposition in Media
  • What is the way to oppose Sanatan Dharma Politics or Spirituality
  • Weapon to destroy Sanatan Dharma

The important speakers at the seminar will be K. Veeramani of Dravidar Kazhagam, Udhayanidhi Stalin a DMK Minister, Radhika Vemula (Mother of Rohit Vemula), Madhukkur Ramalingam a member of the Communist Party of India, T.L. Thirumavalavan from the Liberation Panthers Party, Peter Alphonse from the Congress Party, S. Venkatesan of the Marxist Communist Party and Adhavan Deetchanya of the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers Association with Ponmudi a DMK Minister.

Notably, In a scathing retort to the DMK leader over his remarks, Annamalai took to his official handle on X to post, “The only resolve that the Gopalapuram Family has is to accumulate wealth beyond the State GDP. Thiru @Udhaystalin, you, your father, or his or your idealogue have a bought-out idea from Christian missionaries & the idea of those missionaries was to cultivate ******* like you to parrot their malicious ideology.”

“His comments have not gone well with people in Tamil Nadu. CM Stalin, Speaker M Appavu, Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and former minister A Raja have been consistently saying that the government is for Christians and will do everything to fulfil their demands. Pastor George Ponnaiah said DMK won because of their alms (votes).  if perceived in this background the holding of a conference, timing, the remarks of member of the first family clearly exposes their design to destroy Hinduism and sana tana dharma”  VHP TN media incharge Arumuga Kani stated.  He further added that Udhayanidhi Stalin had openly said that his wife was a christian and so is he.

Senior Supreme Court lawyer Vineet Jindal on September 3, 2023 filed a complaint against DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin with the Delhi Police for his comments about Sanatana Dhrama (Hinduism).  He  took to his social media handle and said that he filed a complaint against Udhayanidhi Stalin under sections 120B (punishment for criminal conspiracy), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 295 (destruction, damage, or defilement of a place of worship or an object held sacred, with intent to insult the religion of a class of persons), and 504 (Insult intended to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant provisions under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
