Independence Day Speech 2023: ‘We have to fight against corruption, dynasty politics and appeasement,’ says PM Modi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi came down heavily on dynasty based politics and added that corruption and politics of appeasement adversely affected the country and there is need to root it out.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the nation from Red Fort hit back at the opposition for indulging in politics of appeasement. He added that the country had to face the brunt of corruption as it weakened the system. PM Modi added that presently, we had dynasty-based politics which worked only for one family. He added that it served the interest of one family. He slammed the opposition and said that it worked merely for one family and was based on the principle of party of the family, by the family and for the family.

PM Modi announces ‘Vishwakarma scheme’ from September

In his 10th consecutive Independence Day speech Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15 announced the launch of the Vishwakarma Yojana with an initial spending of Rs 13,000-Rs 15,000 crore in the next month for those with traditional skills.

Addressing the country from the ramparts of the iconic Red Fort, the prime minister said, “The government will launch ‘Vishwakarma scheme’ with an allocation of Rs 13,000 to 15,000 crore in the next month for those with traditional skills.”

Vishwakarma Scheme was announced in the Budget 2023.

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme aims at improving the quality, scale and reach of products and services of artisans and craftspeople and to integrate them with the domestic and global value chain. This would result in the economic empowerment of such workers, especially those belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Communities, women, transgender and other weaker sections of the society.

The scheme will be launched in September on the Vishwakarma Jayanti.

Women, and female are making mark in every field

Steps have been taken to control inflation

In his Independence day speech, PM Modi highlighted PM Modi said, “We have taken many measures to control inflation in the country and our effort in this direction will continue”.

Govt is working towards working welfare of people

PM Modi, while addressing the nation, added that his government ensured that all the money is used for the development of the nation. He said, “ Every moment of our governance and every rupee is going towards the welfare of citizens. Our government and citizens are united with the same spirit of ‘Nation First’ which will create the biggest impact. “

No last villages in India now

Hailing the villages and the penetration of development to the last mile, PM Narendra Modi said, “…The Vibrant  Border Villages were called the last villages of the country. We changed that mindset. They are not the last villages in the country. What you can see at the borders is the first village in my country…I am delighted that special guests of this event are 600 Pradhans from these border villages. They have come here to the Red Fort to be a part of this event…”

India to be among top 3 economies

From the ramparts of Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the nation that he will ensure that India emerges in the top 3 economies of the world. He added, “It is Modi’s guarantee that India will be among the top three economies in the world in the next 5 years, says PM Modi on Independence Day 2023.

PM Modi says the national character of a nation is the biggest catalyst to become a developed nation.  “In the next 25 years, we must move forward with the mantra of unity..”
