Today, people walk the streets of Kashmir without a shred of fear. Gone are the days of stone pelting, hartals, bandhs and arson haunting, or when separatists controlled everything, intimidating and threatening shopkeepers to close their businesses. The police and civil administration authorities today protect these businesses, ensuring prosperity and peace. Srinagar’s downtown, which was once the epicentre of anti-India protests, has transformed into a favoured destination for tourists seeking culture, heritage, and shopping delights. From darkness to dawn, Kashmir’s transformation is awe-inspiring. Innocent lives are preserved, and no more victims of violence. Education thrives after decades of stagnation. Fear has given way to freedom, as the region rises with renewed hope and determination.
The game-changing transformation in J&K owes its success to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Their resolute focus on strengthening the entire security grid has yielded unparalleled results. The once thriving ecosystem fuelling terrorism and separatism is now crumbling. No stone is left unturned in demolishing its foundations. Government employees found colluding with Pakistani agencies, terrorists, and separatist groups have been shown the door – 52 of them to be exact till July 2023.
One hundred and eighty terrorists were neutralised last year, leading to a 55 per cent drop in civilian killings and a powerful 58 per cent decline in the martyrdom of security forces. J&K’s revolution is undeniable, with a new era of hope and prosperity shining brightly. The tides have turned, and progress reigns supreme.
Progress and Global Recognition
After an agonising 70-year wait, the Mohra Ambkhori Mohalla in Kangri village, Rajouri, finally tastes the sweetness of drinking water. In Budgam, the Laripora canal awakens from its decrepit slumber after a gruelling 70 years. Keran and Mundiyan in Kupwara bask in newfound electricity after a 70-year wait.
A historic victory as 71-year-old Deepoo Devi receives the first domicile certificate in Valmiki Samaj Basti, ending a six-decade-long battle for citizenship. On the global stage, J&K hosts the prestigious G20 meeting, showcasing how the constitutional changes in 2019 unleashed a wave of development, propelling the region towards prosperity.
Making Progress and Empowering Youth
Breaking-free from seven decades of stagnation, an industrial revolution sweeps through the land. There are Rs 66,000 crore in private investment proposals flooding in within a year, and 1,455 industrial units already humming with activity. Emaar Group Shopping Mall and IT Tower lay the foundation for greatness. Fifty two industrial units rise, and 1,711 land allocations pave the way for boundless opportunities. 5.5 lakh youth are empowered through Mission Youth, Financial Institutions, and Governments. 75,000 ignite entrepreneurship for a prosperous tomorrow. The era of jobs going to the highest bidder is over. In the last four years, 33,000 posts have been filled based on merit alone, dismantling archaic practices. 97% enjoy health insurance, and 80 lakh golden cards assure care for all.

Successive Delhi Governments appeased this blackmail, pampering political leaders who held the reins of power. This allowed terrorism and separatism to thrive, as Pakistan and its conduits exploited the sentiment. However, August 5, 2019, marked a turning point, and the sentiment was shattered, making way for grassroots democracy and development that uplifts the common citizens of J&K. The traditional political dynasty now cling to new sentiments, pushing for full statehood and rejecting the UT status.
A Long Way Ahead
The battle is fierce, and the challenge is immense. Pakistan’s deep-rooted support system in Kashmir must be completely dismantled. Covert assets of Pakistan, the ISI, separatists, and terrorists lurk in the media, judiciary, administration, and business. Some even fake allegiance to PM Modi and Amit Shah, masking their sinister agendas. Their existence threatens national security. Expose, punish, and destroy those aiding terror.
These elements resort to despicable tactics, targeting and assassinating true and hardcore nationalists in the valley. They must not be allowed to thrive, for they stifle the voices of those who stand for India in J&K. The concerns of nationalists demand urgent attention.
Another challenge emerges as Pakistan incites communal violence, targeting Hindus in Kashmir. The security agencies wage a relentless fight, but intensified efforts are the need of the hour. Patience is key, but action is imperative. The deceived must be guided back to the path of truth. J&K’s transformation is not a mere four-year project. The mistakes of 70 years cannot vanish overnight. It may take five or even ten years for people to embrace the changes of August 5, 2019.The focus of the PM Modi-led BJP Government must continue to remain unwavering.
