To inform students, parents, and teachers about the government’s activities in the field of education, the Yogi Adityanath government has given directives for the arranging public participatory sessions in schools under the NIPUN Bharat Mission in the state. The programmes will be held on the lines of the G20 Summit

Teachers, parents, community members, and representatives will all be made aware of the efforts being taken in the field of the NIPUN Bharat Mission, National Education Policy 2020, and digital learning through a wide range of activities featured in the programmes such as organising summer camps, conducting meetings of the skilled (NIPUN) task force, house visits and specialised programmes at the district, divisional, and state levels to name a few.

According to the state government’s press release, the state project office has given instructions to all (District Institute of Educational Training) DIET principals, BSAs, and BEOs to organise these programmes.

As per the state project director Vijay Kiran Anand, Summer camps will be organised with the help of teachers from different schools in the state. He said, “Summer camps can create a meaningful and creative environment during the summer vacation. It provides a protected and engaging atmosphere where children can learn various skills. During the camp, children can enjoy activities which will be different from the regular academics where they can also develop various social skills”.

In order to facilitate these activities, teachers can also ask for assistance from active voluntary organisations at their local level. The summer camp should start at 7 AM onwards, and it should be conducted for a duration of at least two hours. Additionally, efforts should be made to include the parents of these children in this summer camp.

The summer camps will include a variety of exciting activities to maintain the interest of the children, such as foundational language and mathematical proficiency, storytelling, music and singing, art-related work, origami, newspaper art, mask-making, painting, project work, quiz contests, rallies, morning assemblies, education forums, English speaking courses, self-defence, yoga practice, and watching educational films. Additionally, the camp also includes programmes for skill development, drama, and mimicry, as well as outdoor and indoor sports.

According to the instructions issued, meetings of the task forces at the district and block levels should be scheduled in order to achieve specified goals of the NIPUN Bharat Mission’s stated objectives. Programmes for these meetings will be centred on various initiatives connected to the G20 NEP’s theme, “Ensuring Foundation Literacy and Numeracy (FLN)”.

In the NIPUN Bharat sessions, the importance of education will be emphasised as part of these programmes. There will also be presentations of digital learning content based on the G20 Digital Initiative, like the Diksha and NIPUN Lakshya apps.

Additionally, neighbouring locations like DIET camps, BSA headquarters, and others will also host programmes about plantations. There will be demonstrations of print-rich materials, big books, maths and science kits and educational entrance under the academic demo.

With the help of local people, meetings will be organised under the education forum, and even street plays will be conducted to raise awareness among them. Even a quiz contest will be played, which will include current affairs and questions related to NIPUN Bharat and G20.

By June 15, all departmental officials and district coordinators have been told to contact parents personally to inform them about the NIPUN Bharat Mission, NIPUN Lakshya, classroom-level transformations, DBT, etc.

NIPUN Bharat Mission

The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education launched the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN Bharat). The launch of NIPUN Bharat marks an important step undertaken by the Department of School Education and Literacy, among a series of measures taken for implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.

The vision of NIPUN Bharat Mission is to create an enabling environment to ensure the universal acquisition of foundational literacy and numeracy so that every child achieves the desired learning competencies in reading, writing and numeracy by the end of Grade 3 by 2026-27.

NIPUN Bharat will be implemented by the Department of School Education and Literacy, and a five-tier implementation mechanism will be set up at the National-State-District-Block-School level in all States and Union Territories under the aegis of the centrally sponsored scheme of Samagra Shiksha.
