A shocking case of betrayal has come to light from the Sikar district of Rajasthan. A girl called her friend to her place where three of her male friends were already waiting. Soon after the victim arrived, the men took her to a resort after intoxicating her. They raped her by taking turns, after raping the girl they killed her.

A case has been registered, the villagers also staged a protest against the administration. The case is from the Laxmangarh area of the Sikar district. The incident took place on May 11.  Based on the complaint the accused have been booked under charges of rape and murder.

The victim Afreen (name changed) was a class 12 student and lived with her maternal grandparents. Her father lived in Saudi Arabia where he worked as a labourer in a factory. Her friend’s (Rabia, name changed) family and the accused men conspired the whole crime against them.

Afreen’s uncle had registered a case against Rafia, her family members and the three men. As quoted by media reports, Afreen was called to Rafia’s place on May 11. Rafia’s family members are also a part of this conspiracy, drugged Afreen. Then they called three men who took her to a resort where after raping her in turns they killed her with a sharp weapon.

It is pertinent to mention that all the accused men use to follow and torture Afreen on her way back from school. The family confronted them and asked them to stop however, they kept following her.

Following the death of Afreen, the villagers called for a protest outside the Ramgarh police station. The victim’s family and the villagers alleged that the police is trying to cover up the issue. They claimed that the police teams are providing security to two of the accused due to political reasons.

Organiser tried accessing the FIR in this case but unfortunately, the details are hidden.

As per the local reports, the police have arrested two of the names accused in the FIR out of four. The protestors demanded the arrest of the remaining accused, they threatened if the remaining accused will not be held they will continue to protest.

The aggrieved family raised slogans against State President and Laxmangarh MLA Govind Singh Dotasara and Laxmangarh Municipality President Mustafa Qureshi. At the same time, they also raised slogans against the police administration.

During the interrogation, one of the accused said that he had taken the student to the hotel. While returning, her burqa got entangled in the wheel of the bike near Hamirpura Road on National Highway 52. Due to this she fell down and hurt her head. His other companion told the police they had called to the hospital.

On the other hand, Afreen’s uncle claims that the men raped her at the hotel and now that the family found out they are trying to cover it up saying it was a road accident.
