Once people start to believe that, Islamic fanaticism can go this far only, even more brutal cases show up. In a recent case from Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur, a Muslim man killed his wife after stabbing her multiple times with a screwdriver. He raged because the woman allegedly refuse to offer Namaz on time.

The accused has been identified as Mohammad Shahzeb, a resident of the Bagicha Amna area of Rampur whereas the victim Shahna Bano is a resident of the Kashiram colony, civil lines area.

The police officer interacting with the media briefed the incident as “The duo had got married to each other some 4-5 years ago, it was a love marriage. On May 6, the accused and the victim had an argument after which Shahzeb stabbed the woman multiple times with a screwdriver. He even took out her eyes and stabbed her neck area. She died immediately”.

प्रभारी निरीक्षक थाना गंज, रामपुर पुलिस द्वारा बताया गया कि दोनों के शवों का पंचायतनामा भरकर पोस्टमार्टम करा दिया गया है।

After killing Shahna, he used the same screwdriver to stab himself multiple times. By the time police took him to the hospital, the doctors declared him dead.

The Rampur police taking cognizance of the matter shared on social media stated from their official Twitter account that, “the postmortem and punchnama of both the dead bodies were conducted by Ganj police station, Rampur”.

The video of the victim’s dead body lying on the bed was shared widely on the internet, in this video the face of the woman can be seen ripped off. Her eyes popped out. However, the video or picture of the accused was not shared.

A video of the victim’s family was also shared on the social media platform in which the victim’s sister can be seen telling, “Shahzeb used to beat Shahna a lot, he was an abusive husband other than this he was an alcohol addict. This Jumma (May 5) the victim came from her parent’s house. On May 6, Shahzeb showed up and started asking Shahna to offer Namaz, as it was 1 pm. However, it is nowhere written that Namaz cannot be offered after 1 pm, we offer Namaz every day after 2 or 3 pm. Shahza sadi, she too will offer Namaz after 2 pm.”

“This raged Shahzeb, he went out of control, starting by slapping Shahna, he pushed her on the floor, and then thrashed her to the stairs. By then his relatives showed up and said, they were taking responsibility for the well-being of Shahna and that the victim’s family should not call the police etc,” added the woman.

She added, “He took her with him and now we have received the message that he killed her. We want justice for our sister”.

As of now, no press release or FIR was lodged in the said matter by either of the victim’s family. Organiser will update the report as soon as any detail comes up.
