The famous Mahant Dhirendra Krishna Shahshtri also called Bageshwar Dham Sarkar is in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh these days. Shashtri preached the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha in the Baheria area of the city. On the last day of the Katha, as many as 95 members of fifty families who left Hinduism for some reason returned back to the Sanatan fold.

As per the local reports, as their initiation to Hinduism Shashtri gave them yellow stalls and welcomed them to the Dharma with tilak. The members undertook an oath with Bageshwar Baba which says, “We will remain in Sanatan fold all our life. We will not leave the path of our dharma, for any allurement”.

On this occasion, Shahstri also asked the well-to-do Sanatanis to help and support those reeling in crisis.

The Shrimad Bhagwat Katha was organised in the Banke Bihari Nagar of the city. The local families who had left Dharma to join Christianity revied to Hindusim. All those who did ‘Ghar Wapsi’ shared their ordeal with Bageshwar Baba.

Bhagwan Das Sen who is a resident of the Badona area of Sagar district said, “The Missionary people lured me for goats, they said they will prove me goats, as I rely on them for my livelihood, I started visiting the Church. They took me to Rajghat where they asked me to take a dip in a pond, after this they said, I have become a Christian. I came to the Katha and felt like I should return to Sanatan Dharma”.

Another convertee, Gulabrani Ahirwar from Shahgarh said, “They asked me to take a dip in water and said, I have become Christian and that I have been converted. They asked me to remove my Bindi, toe rings, bangles and nuptial chain. I never stopped wearing these, now that I am back I am wearing my ornaments”.

Another convertee Dayal said these people lure innocent Hindus saying joining Church will give them benefits. They distribute stuff like goats, mosquito-net, blankets and others. Dayal was also taken to Rajghat where the conversion was done, they said to keep coming to the Church and these facilities will be provided.

Nonelal Ahriwar said those who converted him to Christianity said can give better education to his children. They also said they will give money. They asked to follow Bible and try and attain Psalm 32 Of David which will make them true Christians.

During the ‘Ghar Wapsi’ event a woman from the stage said, “They asked me to remove pictures of Hindu deities from home”. To which Shashtri replied, “People say I am outspoken and that I always speak against them, see they were asking this woman to remove the picture of Bhagwan from home as if this Bharat belongs to their forefathers”.

“We have full right to worship Ram, worship Hanuman Ji, Shankar Ji, Sant Raidas, Meera, Raskhan and whosoever will stop us from doing that will have to leave this country. As long as I am alive I will keep bringing the lost Hindus back to the Sanatan fold, will never accept division among Hindus”, said Dhirendra Shashtri.
