Guwahati: President Droupadi Murmu will arrive on a three-day visit to Assam on April 6. The President will inaugurate the two-day ‘Hasti Mahotsov’ or ‘Gaj Festival’ at the park on April 7 morning before leaving for Guwahati. The Centre and the State Government jointly organise the annual elephant festival to conserve the Asiatic elephant and find ways to resolve increasing human-elephant conflict. It should be mentioned that the annual elephant festival attracts a number of Indian and foreign tourists to the Kaziranga national park.

The President will land at the Jorhat airport in the afternoon, and from there, she will go to the Kaziranga National Park, they said.

President Droupadi Murmu will visit the park’s western range at Bagori Range. She will take a jeep safari and then attend a cultural programme in the central range in Kohora Range in the evening. The State Government has made adequate arrangements for the visit of President Droupadi Murmu. It should be mentioned that former President Ram Nath Kovind also stayed twice in the Kaziranga National Park and enjoyed the wildlife along with his family.

Besides that, President Droupadi Murmu will flag off the Mt Kanchenjunga Expedition-2023 in Guwahati on April 7 and attend the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Gauhati High Court. President Droupadi Murmu will leave for Tezpur on April 8. At the Air Force station in Tezpur, she will take a sortie of the Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter aircraft before leaving for Delhi from Tezpur airport.
