Chhindwara of MP: From a family bastion to Modi’s beneficiary Hub – A unique Journey of inspirational development

As India marches towards establishing a self-reliant and progressive economy, the inclusion of the weaker sections of the society in the financial structure through schemes like PM Jan Dhan Yojana plays an important role in ensuring that the last man in the queue is included in the financial happenings of the country

Under the PM Narendra Modi-led Government, the country is in the ninth year of its ‘development journey.’ The consistent progressive efforts by the Modi Government to ensure that development reaches the last mile in our country are palpable with the kind of support and trust PM Modi enjoys from every region in our country. The confidence that people have in his leadership is undisputed, testified by the recently concluded elections in the North East. It is only under PM Modi that the real empowerment of the North East as a region could take place.

Today, as the world echoes that it is ‘India’s moment,’ perhaps, it is more important to track this ‘development journey’ right from its inception in 2014. From Swachh Bharat Yojana to PM Ujjwala Yojana, Kisan Samman Nidhi to Ayushman Bharat Yojana-these pathbreaking initiatives have focussed not only on financial inclusion but also on socially empowering the marginalized sections of Indian society.

As India marches towards establishing a self-reliant and progressive economy, the inclusion of the weaker sections of the society in the financial structure through schemes like PM Jan Dhan Yojana plays an important role in ensuring that the last man in the queue is included in the financial happenings of the country. India has thereby emerged as a huge opportunity for the world to explore. In the new world order, India, under the leadership of PM Modi, with the trust and commitment of 1.2 billion people of our country, comes out as the most important stakeholder.

Madhya Pradesh, too has been the beneficiary of various development-centric initiatives of the Central Government, which have not only supported but transformed lives in both rural & urban households of the State. Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh stands out as an important region that has been suffering due to years of ignorance and politics centred around favouritism/clientelism practised by Congress leader Kamal Nath, who has been the Member of Parliament since 1980. It was only in 2018 that he made his son, Nakul Nath, contest elections; he won by a thin margin of 37,536 votes. Many consider Chhindwara as Kamal Nath’s bastion, but it is a myth.

Chhindwara aspires for change—a change for development, a change to shed dynastic politics, and a chance to get equal opportunities for the youth of the region. It is noteworthy that Chhindwara has not missed PM Modi’s development journey. There are more than 12 lakh Ayushman card-holders in the district, and in every panchayat, an average of 250 beneficiaries of the PM Awas scheme. Upgrading the infrastructure connectivity of the entire Chhindwara region has been the top priority for both the central and State Government. And therefore, it would be right to say that Chhindwara has emerged as a bastion of the beneficiaries of the initiatives taken by the Central and State Governments to alleviate the lives of the poor.

Under PM Modi’s visionary leadership, the Bharatiya Janata Party in Madhya Pradesh is consistently striving to ensure that this development journey that we had embarked on in 2014 continues to bring happiness and prosperity in the lives of people from all socio-economic backgrounds. Today, every BJP karyakarta, from the booth- to the State level, works with the notions of politics of development and performance. We have seen tremendous energy and confidence in our cadre during the ongoing Booth Vistarak Abhiyan 2.0. For BJP karyakartas like us, the ultimate commitment is to ensure inclusive development for all, and the pledge remains Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas.
