Former Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi after being convicted in a defamation case was disqualified from the parliament. The Surat court sentenced him to two years of imprisonment after he made derogatory remarks about ‘Modi; community by comparing them all with thieves. Similarly, Tejashwi once called all Gujaratis Thugs.

On March 23, the Sarva Gujarati Samaj Chhatisgarh handed over a complaint letter to the Superintendent of Police, Dhamtari District against the RJD supremo. Tejashwi is currently, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar state.
On 22nd March 2023, Tejashwi Yadav insulted the Gujarati community by suggesting that only Gujaratis could be fraudsters and thugs in the current scenario, his actions cannot be forgotten due to the fact that both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister are Gujaratis.

The complainant Preetesh Gandhi wrote, “The statement made by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav in the media is highly condemnable. He has said in the media that only Gujaratis can be fraudsters.”
“He has used such indecent words for benefitting his politics. This statement made by Tejashwi Yadav has hurt the Gujarati community as well as the entire Gujarati people”, Gandhi added further.

As per the letter, “The Sarv Gujarati Samaj Chhattisgarh state strongly condemns this statement of Tejashwi Yadav. All Gujaratis living in Chhattisgarh are hurt by this statement of Tejashwi Yadav and we all request you take appropriate action by filing an FIR against Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. His statement is an insult to all of us.”

On March 22, Tejashwi at a rally in Bihar said, “In the country’s present scenario, only a Gujarati can be a thug as their thuggee would be forgiven.”
Notably, on March 25 Tejashwi appeared before the CBI regarding the land for Job scam. Tejashwi has missed the probe earlier on March 4, March 11 and March 14.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) presented the chargesheet of the case in October 2022. As per the chargesheet, the candidates revealed that they sold lands to Lalu and his family at reduced rates in exchange for a job.

In the said scam Lalu Yadav, the then railway minister flouted standard norms to provide jobs to candidates in a quid-pro-quo arrangement. The candidates appointed sold their or their immediate families which involved his daughters and son, now Deputy CM of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav.
