On March 15, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) employees razed a temple built almost fifty years ago during their demolition drive. The temple was located in the Rajendra Nagar area of the city. As soon as the locals and the members of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) protested the demotion activities were stopped. The leaders accused the Arvind Kejriwal for misinforming the religious committe of DDA to demolish the fifty-year-old Hindu temple.

The temple is located at the Shankar road area. On March 15, police troops arrived at the temple and soon bulldozers were there. As soon as the demolition drive started the members of BJP and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) arrived. They stood over the bulldozer and stopped the demolition activities.

The BJP leaders while sepeking with media said, that the Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party is targeting Hindus and they misinformed the DDA religious committee so that this Hanuman temple could be demolished.

The media reports also quoted some police officials who said, they were taking action against the illegal encroachments around the temple. A heavy police force was deployed in the area and then the situation was taken under control.
