Yet another firing incident has come to light from the capital city of the country. On March 6, family members of a 16-year-old Hindu girl rushed to the hospital as their daughter sustained a bullet wound on her shoulder. The attacker has been identified as Mohammad Qasim a resident of the Nanda Nagari area of the city.

The Delhi police have booked Qasim under charges of attempt to murder. Further investigation is underway.

News agency ANI in a tweet updated on March 7 informed that a minor has sustained a bullet injury and had been taken to the GTB hospital. The tweet further mentioned the name of the accused Qasim, a friend of the victim girl.

Joy Tirki, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North East Delhi while speaking to the media said, “A firing incident took place in the Nanda Nagri area of the city. They received a call at around 8:27 pm and soon the Station House Officer and Assistant Commissioner of Police reached the spot. The team was informed that a minor girl has sustained firing shots and she has been admitted to the GTB hospital.”

“The girl told that her friend Qasim (19) has fired a bullet at her and he is her neighbour. They both are good friends. During an argument, he fired from a zip gun. After the incident, he fled from the spot but soon the police teams arrested him. He has been booked under IPC section 307”, added officer Tirki.

Reports claim that the girl was in a relationship with the accused. He was angered over her as she was talking to another boy and wanted to end the relationship. A video of the visit is also circulated on the internet where she is taking the name of the accused and saying this is not the first time. He has been threatening her in the past as well. Towards the end of the video, the girl says he fired the bullet in her house.

Organiser Weekly dig into the social media profiles of the accused and found that he is 19 years old and makes reels (short videos on Instagram). Besides this a video of the accused with the victim girl was also found where he can be seen celebrating his anniversary with the girl in a very filmy way. This means the girl was in an alleged relationship with the boy.

Furthermore, it was found that the girl when decided to leave him he tried to kill her. In the above video, a girl is tagged with the accused Qasim. When Organiser Weekly checked her profile it turned out to be Qasim’s only. He was posting her pictures and videos from an account solely managed by him.

Apart from the attempt to murder charges the accused needs to be booked under the Information Technology Act as well. The police probe will clear the picture from here.
