On February 24, RSS Sah Sarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal at Ideas for India Summit 2023, said that India produces surplus wheat, and the Government of India could send the same to Pakistan, provided that the latter had asked for it.

At the summit, Dr Krishna Gopal reiterated India’s Indic belief “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” (may everyone be happy) and recalled that India provided food and pharmaceutical aid to countries in need during the Covid-19 pandemic. He claimed that if Pakistan asks India for aid, then the Government of India would diligently deliberate on the same.

Earlier on February 23, Dr Krishna Gopal speaking at a programme in New Delhi, said, “Bharat doesn’t think we and they. Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah is our civilisational conviction. No one should be hungry anywhere. It applies to America, even Pakistan. He further added that it is true that Pakistan is facing crisis but it is also true that it keeps attacking us frequently. If Pakistan with a right mindset would have asked for assistance, Bharat would have certainly considered the request”. Some media houses twisted this statement as ‘Bharat should send wheat to Pakistan.’

“I feel, if asked Government of Bharat would definitely consider the request positively if Pakistan makes up its mind’. He insisted that whatever is necessary for international relations has to be followed.

At the summit, Dr Krishna Gopal, when asked “whether it is necessary for Pakistan to ask (for wheat)?” replied that “it is necessary for international relations.” He also admitted that it is for the Government of India to decide whether to provide such aid to Pakistan; however, India does produce surplus wheat of 1.5 crore tonnes. “I feel if asked Government of Bharat would definitely consider the request positively if Pakistan makes up its mind’.

When asked “whether it is time to initiate talks with Pakistan again?”, Dr Krishna Gopal replied that the same depends on Pakistan’s behaviour. He stated, “since Independence, Pakistan has waged war against India four times.”

He further reiterated, “Pakistan needs to improve their behaviour, if it does not improve its behaviour, then there remains an uncertainty.” He also said, “Pakistan needs to leave their feeling of enmity behind permanently” to move forward and “peaceful relations are tough to achieve while Pakistan continues to send terrorists to India.”

“Pakistan doesn’t leave it’s stubbornness and enmity. This is the biggest problem with our neighbour.”

Recently, Dr Ashok Dubey, Prant Prachar Pramukh of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Awadh Prant, has filed a complaint against three prominent newspapers for spreading fake news about the RSS where the media houses claimed that Sangh would construct its second headquarters on 100 acres of land in Ayodhya, covering an area 100 times larger than Nagpur. The FIR was lodged at Hajratganj police station, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

The FIR was filed against Rakesh Aggarwal and Ramesh Mishra of Dainik Bhaskar, editor of Haribhoomi and chief editor of News 24.
