The Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti will launch a foot march “Hindu Swabhiman Jagran Sant Padyatra”, in Chhattisgarh from February 18. The Yatra, which will cover around 700 Km across Chhattisgarh, will pass through all 33 districts and conclude on March 19.
More than 500 Hindu saints and Sanyasi across the country are set to participate in the Yatra, which will start from four Shakti Peethas located in four different corners of the State which, includes Maa Mahamaya in Ramanujganj, Maa Danteshwari in Dantewada, Maa Bamleshwari in Dongargarh, and Maa Chandrahasini near Sogda Ashram in Jashpur.
Speaking with the Organiser, Chandrasekhar Varma, state working president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), said that the Hindu saints have decided to visit the remotest part of the State through this Yatra and VHP will wholeheartedly support them in their noble efforts.
The Yatra is focused on educating people about the menace of conversion, which has gripped the State for decades; our saints will visit the remotest parts of the states and stay with the common people; they are worried about the growing cases of Love Jihad and illegal conversion by the missionaries that’s why they are focused on Dharma Jagran, added Shri Verma.
While on the buzz around the demand for Hindu Rashtra through this Yatra, Verma clarified, ” we are aware of the buzz, and VHP’s position on the matter is already in the public domain; as far as this Yatra is concerned, there is a general feeling within the saint’s community that the government should declare India a Hindu Rashtra under the constitutional framework, VHP endorse their demand.
It should be noted that Bageshwar Dham Maharaj of Madhya Pradesh recently announced that he would be holding meetings with the prominent saints across the country to bring everyone around on the demand of declaring India a Hindu Rashtra; Bageshwar Dham Maharaj will also join the Yatra, which is set to conclude on March 19 before a huge gathering in the state capital.
Meanwhile, while speaking to the media, Chief Minister Baghel, while inviting the saints to pay a visit to Kaushalya Mata temple during their footmarch, questioned the motive of VHP, “why did the VHP not carry out the padayatra during the BJP rule, asked Baghel.
While returning the favour to the chief minister, Ghanashyam Chaudhary, co-convenor of the padayatra, said that the “The Yatra is open to all, it is not intended for any political gain, everyone including the congressmen can join the Yatra.”
