Dibrugarh: A minor Hindu girl was abducted and gangraped by Bhaijan Ali and Safar Ali in Dibrugarh district of Assam.

The two criminals have been arrested by police. The 14 years old minor was found unconscious in Dibrugarh, the police informed on Monday. The girl was missing from February 3. Her parents lodged a police complaint after she went missing.

Dibrugarh superintendent of police Shwetank Mishra told reporters that the two accused have been identified as Bhaijan Ali and Safar Ali. They abducted the minor on February 3. The minor girl was found unconscious near the Athabari tea garden. Her hands and legs were tied with rope and she was unconscious when locals first noticed her.

Arrested Bhaijan Ali and Safar Ali were taken to the crime scene by the police. Police sources said that the arrested criminals initially tried to mislead the police by showing another place as the crime scene.
Police sources said that when the girl came to the nearby market on the evening of February 3, she was abducted from near a deserted cemetery on her way. Locals and family found her unconscious on February 4 evening.

The SP also said that the accused will be prosecuted under Section 376 of the POCSO Act, 2012. The minor victim was admitted to Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh. Her condition is said to be stable as of now. The heinous crime jolted the state and people are demanding stern action against the culprit.
