New Delhi: Surya Foundation and International Naturopathy Organization (INO), in association with the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, on the occasion of 5th Naturopathy Day, from November 18, 2022, to March 31, 2023, Union AYUSH Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the organization of Naturopathy Health and Counseling Camps for public awareness towards Naturopathy Yoga. Under this program, 1000 Naturopathy Health and Counseling Camps will be organized nationwide. Under the guidance of the Surya Foundation and Chairman of INO, Padmashree Jaiprakash Agarwal, people will be given counselling about Naturopathy and made aware of how they can take care of their health. One can stay healthy and healthy with the traditional method of medicine, i.e. Naturopathy.
Surya Foundation and Chairman of INO Padmashree Jayprakash Agarwal ji appreciated the works of Naturopathy doctors honoured in the program; he said that because of such heroes of ours, Naturopathy is gaining recognition in the country and abroad, in Nepal and other countries, including China, Singapore. Hospitals of Naturopathy and Naturopathy have started, and he said that the work which our Prime Minister touches on has started progressing. Similarly, when this day was announced five years ago, people’s awareness of the method increased.
Mahatma Gandhi established the All India Nature Cure Federation Trust in Pune, Maharashtra, on November 18, 1945, with the aim of providing knowledge and benefits of “Naturel Cure” to every village and every household and to create an independent university on Naturopathy in the country. While Keeping in mind the purpose and goal of this historic day, the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, has declared November 18 every year as “Naturopathy Day”.
Union AYUSH Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the campaign of 1000 Health and Counseling Camps by lightening the lamp at Dr Ambedkar International Center, Janpath, New Delhi. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, he said that Surya Foundation and I have been making positive efforts for the overall development of the country for the last 30 years, along with nation-building activities to spread the knowledge and benefits of Naturopathy Yoga in every household. Union AYUSH Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal ji said that Union AYUSH Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal ji praised the program organized by INO and Surya Foundation on Naturopathy Day; he said that due to the efforts of the Honorable Prime Minister, Yoga and Naturopathy had got worldwide recognition. Naturopathy also gives us the message of connecting with nature; the right thing is that if we protect wildlife, then nature will save us; the Union Minister said that for this, we have to bring youth together; he said that AYUSH achievement in the international market as well as increased. Shri Sarbananda Sonwal ji said that AYUSH assures that all the demands of INO regarding Naturopathy will be considered.
Naturopathy is not only a curing system, but it is also a drugless treatment method. In Naturopathy, particular emphasis is laid on dietary habits, the purification process, water therapy, mud therapy, massage, fasting, and diet therapy. Its description is found in the Puranic (ancient) texts and Vedas; that is, after the Vedic period, this method was prevalent even in the Puranic period. In today’s run-of-the-mill life, the public’s attraction towards fast food, especially the youth, is increasing. Fast food and not doing physical labour are inviting many dangerous diseases like obesity, constipation, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, mental illness and high blood pressure. “Kaun Banega Swasthya Rakshak Competition” (KBSR) and other programs will be helpful to make the country’s youth and the general public aware of health.
Ayush Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal ji said that the way Shri Jaiprakash ji had taken Naturopathy as a mission for it; I think this is an authentic tribute to Mahatma Gandhi in the true sense, seeing that we are moving ahead with a dedicated body, and mind and wealth for the overall development. I have been seeing INO’s service spirit and dedication towards work for 30 years. I assure you that I will continue to cooperate as much as possible on behalf of the Ministry, and the Ministry of AYUSH will also continue to get the support and guidance of Mr Jaiprakash.
On this occasion, the Hon’ble Prime Minister said that it was a great appreciation to know about the programs being done on the occasion of 5th Naturopathy Day 2022 by Surya Foundation and INO. . It has been said that Arogyam Param Bhagyam, Swasthyam Sarvarthasadhanam means all works are accomplished by staying healthy. The Prime Minister said that our prosperity in the field of health is India’s glorious heritage and is the heritage of the entire humanity; today, the world is rapidly adopting it after examining the qualities of Naturopathy, which leads to harmony of body and mind and integration of body and nature.
This Amrit period of 25 years till the centenary of independence is the duty period for all of us to work wholeheartedly. The Prime Minister said that through various programs, including camps and competitions organized across the country on Naturopathy Day, more and more people would join and become aware of good health for themselves and society. The Prime Minister extended best wishes to all associated with the program for their future endeavours.
On this occasion, in his message through video conferencing, former President Honorable Mr Ramnath Kovind ji praised the Chairman of Surya INO, Padma Shri Jaiprakash Agarwal ji and said that he is such a sage of natural medicine who is doing natural medicine with body, mind and wealth. Engaged in the promotion, he said that Naturopathy is as old as the human body. The human body is made up of five elements; as long as there is a balance in them, the human body is healthy, there is no disease in the body due to their imbalance in them; and Naturopathy is to balance these elements in the body. He said that the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, believed in Naturopathy and believed that whoever adopts Naturopathy does not have to depend on medicine and hospital. That is, naturopathy makes a person healthy and self-reliant.
Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla Ji congratulated the organization of the Naturopathy program organized by the International Naturopathy Organization (INO) and Surya Foundation on World Naturopathy Day. Shri Om Birla said that earlier there used to be a Vaidya in the villages who used to treat all the people of the town; in the last few years, there has been a change in our lifestyle, and there has been an increase in some diseases due to many reasons. That’s why according to the present system, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Yoga etc. methods are the best methods.
The government has given attention to research and development in this method, Surya Foundation has also made many positive contributions in this context. Because this method has no negative effect, it needs to be taken to the masses. Addressing the meeting, the Chairman of Surya Foundation and INO, Padmashree Jaiprakash Agarwal, said that naturopathy is an affordable, simple and accessible therapy that everyone can learn and, by learning, can make others healthy. In this direction, the Ministry of AYUSH is doing commendable work under the leadership of our eminent Prime Minister. Along with this, the workers of INO are also working to take this treatment method to the people and every household across the country.
On this occasion, the National President of INO, Mr Anant Biradar announced that INO would organize a countrywide “Kaun Banega Swasthya Rakshak” (KBSR) competition to generate interest and awareness about naturopathy among children and adults. More than seven lakhs people will participate in this online competition. 1000 naturopathy health and consultation camps will be organized across the country, in which people will be advised in the form of consultation to stay healthy with only earth, water, sunlight, air and sky through this drugless curing method.

A cycle rally was started on November 11 under the leadership of Asian Marathon Champion Dr Sunita Godara to spread the message of Naturopathy among the general public. In this series, the cycle rally (Cyclothan) was organized on November 18 and ended at the program venue from Rajghat, New Delhi.
On this occasion, the National President of INO Mr Anant Biradar made the following proposals regarding Naturopathy:-
1. In the meeting of the “National Yoga Naturopathy Promotion and Development Board” on July 11 2019, a meeting of Naturopathic Doctors (BNYS / Self educated / Diploma holder) Registration should be done following the decision taken on Registration.
2. Start this work as soon as possible through Naturopathy Certification Board (NCB) so that this medical system can also get its proper place and dignity like other Indian medical systems.
3. Government should issue guidelines for employment opportunities for Yoga Volunteers, Yoga teachers etc., who have received training under Yoga being run under the Yoga Certification Board, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
4. The Naturopathy Hospital being set up in Pune, Maharashtra, by the Ministry of AYUSH should be recognized as Naturopathy University.
Every year, on the occasion of the fifth Naturopathy Day, International Naturopathy Organization honours seven extraordinary people who have done commendable and essential work in Naturopathy and dedicated their whole life to the promotion and development of this method. INO has been promoting Naturopathy for the last 26 years under the guidance of the Surya Foundation and INO Chairman Padmashree Jaiprakash Agarwal. On the occasion of Naturopathy Day, more than 40000 workers of INO, spread across the country, under this “Naturopathy Health and Counseling Camp” organized by INO, in more than 500 districts of 32 states (including Union Territories) of the country, will organize programs and camps. In these programs, special responsibility will be taken, especially for the care of the elderly. Special attention will be given to good nutrition, a healthy lifestyle, and emotional and mental health.
