The Indian tradition never followed the path of relying on the government for everything. Many things have to be done by society and the government. It was Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay, who put forth this idea, said Sarkaryavah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Dattatrey Hosbale on Friday. He was speaking after releasing the ‘Ekatm Manav Darshan – Glossary of Concepts’, a unique compendium which explains the exact meaning of Indian concepts. Governor Bhagatsingh Koshyari presided over the function while Executive President of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Sanstha Ravindra Dev, National Coordinator of Pragya Pravah J. Nandakumar and Ravindra Mahajan of Ekatm Prabodh Mandal from Mumbai were present on the dais. Sarkaryavah Hosbale said they created a vacuum in the world after World War II and Cold War.

Experts were saying that end of history was near. But history cannot end, and every generation creates its history. Now the world is searching for real happiness, and Deendayal Upadhyay showed that only Indian philosophy could give this happiness. He said that Deendayal Upadhyay ji showed the audacity to present Integral Humanism when the country was treading the path of western and socialist ideologies. He was much derided and laughed at for this. However, the same thoughts are proven as guiding lights today. He lamented that he did not give these thoughts the academic study they deserved. Governor Bhagatsingh Koshyari said, “Integral Humanism is not just for India but for the world. According to the Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam (The whole world is our family), we should not limit our thinking to our family or us. The world is realising today that Communism and Capitalism are not the only two ways ahead, and there is a third path also. With time, the third path will be the only way, and that would be Integral Humanism. Secretary of CISR Haribhau Mirasdar spoke about the aim of preparing this compendium. A few of the 30 contributing authors for this glossary of terms were felicitated at the occasion by the Governor and Hosbale. Prof. Prashant Sath compeered the function and gave the vote of thanks.

Integral Humanism Glossary of Terms

Giving an idea of this glossary of terms, Ravindra Mahajan said they had covered a total of 131 concepts in this compendium. In this, a detailed attempt has been made to explain the meaning behind the words against just giving the sense like a traditional dictionary. An attempt has been made to note as much as possible the difference in spelling of these words, mostly Sanskrit, from various Indian languages or English. This compendium has been created with efforts in this direction for the last seven years. This encyclopedia has been prepared by Ekatma Prabodh Mandal of Mumbai under the editorship of Rabindra Mahajan and Nana Lele after a four years long effort with contributions from 30 scholars from across the country.

Workshop

A day-long workshop on various aspects of Integral Humanism was organised, coinciding with the release of the compendium. Organised five sessions related to Integral Humanism and Indian ideology in the workshop. National Coordinator of Pragya Pravah J. Nandakumar, prominent economist Varadraj Bapat, former MP Mahesh Chandra Sharma and Prof. Aniruddha Deshpande spoke in the seminar.
