BJP’s stir demanding the resignation of CPM Mayor Arya Rajendran getting more momentum and tempo day by day. Today police unleashed violent attack against BJP snd Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leaders and workers  including BJP state president K. Surendran state BJYM president Praful Krishna. Praful and several others are hospitalised.

BJP councillors (35 strong) blocked the main gate of the municipal corporation. The same time BJYM workers marched to the gate. It led to push and shove between the workers and the police. It led to tear gassing and using the water cannon against the agitators.

Earlier the leaders addressed the gathering. K. Surendran said that CM Pinarayìì Vijayan is the King of Corruption. Corruption is not confined to Thiruvananthapuram Corporation alone. It is visible in all Local Self Government bodies. So   BJP is spreading the agitation throughout the state. He said, party would not stop this agitation until the Mayor resigns and proper enquiry into her corruption takes place. Praful Krishna echoed Surendran’s declaration.

BJYM workers overpowered the barricades and entered into the Corporation compound. Many of them were seen jumping over the gate.

After the police atrocities, K. Surendran alleged that chemicals were added in the water cannon. He demanded an inquiry into it. He declared state-wide protest tomorrow  in this connection.
