Miya Museum in Assam funded by al-Qaeda (AQIS) & ABT: Arrested Jihadis and Madrassa teacher reveal shocking information

Guwahati: The al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and its Bangladesh chapter Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) are not leaving any stone unturned in Assam to set up an Islamic terrorist base in the state. Apart from creating several Jihadi modules radicalising the Muslim youth in the state, the AQIS and ABT are also funding radical groups in Assam. Earlier it came to light, after state police and NIA investigations, that Al Qaeda was funding the private madrassas run by Jihadi modules in Assam, and these madrassas were used as the breeding ground of the jihadi activities in the state.

While investigating the setting up of the Miya Museum in Assam, the police have come across some sensational details. Three persons were arrested in connection with the setting up of the Miya museum in the Goalpara district. Arrested Mahar Ali, Abdul Baten and Tanu Kumar Dhadumiya have connections with AQIS and ABT, police sources revealed.  The museum has been found to have links with terror outfits al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT). The AQIS reportedly funded the setting up of the Miya museum in the Goalpara district of Assam. The founders of the museum Mahar Ali and Abdul Baten had allegedly received money from al-Qaeda to establish the facility, police sources added.

Special DGP GP Singh said that arrested Miya Parishad president Mohar Ali, the founder of Miya Museum, had approached the ABT operatives for funds to set up the museum. Singh added that recently arrested AQIS and ABT operatives in Nalbari and Tamulpur districts had revealed this in police interrogation.

The Goalpara district administration had already sealed the private Miya museum as it was set up in a PMAY-funded house.

The al-Qaeda funding of the Miya Museum was revealed after the arrest of 4 Jihadi by Assam police in the Nalbari and Tamulpur district. One arrested ABT member Sadeq Ali, who was a madrassa teacher, revealed the al-Qaeda funding of the Miya museum in police interrogation.

Interestingly, several AIUDF and Congress legislators are batting for the Miya Museum.  In 2020, suspended Congress MLA Sherman Ali proposed the idea of the Miya museum.
