Chairman of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata, has been awarded ‘Sewa Ratna’ by the Sewa Bharti for his contribution to the field of philanthropy. Apart from Ratan Tata and Chalasani Babu Rajendra Prasad, Amul CEO RS-Sodhi, social activist Madhusudan Agarwal, Krishna Kumar Agarwal, Rajendra Singhal, CBR Prasad, Samta Foundation (Mumbai), Ajanta Pharma, Shyam Sundar Agarwal (Milk Foods) , Yamini Jaipuria (Cosmo Group), Ashok Agarwal (Globe Capital), Roshni Nadar, Raghupati Singhania (JK Group) Rajiv ji etc were also awarded ‘Sewa Bhushan’ for their selfless service. The distinguished personalities were awarded on the basis of “priceless contribution in social work or providing funds for social development”, Sewa Bharati said in the statement..

On this occasion, Uttarakhand Governor Lt General Gurmeet Singh said that service work is the biggest work for humanity. Those who get the opportunity to serve, there is a great grace of God on them. He also said that saints, servants, soldiers and Sikhs are all one. RSS Akhil Bhartiya Sewa Pramukh Shri Parag Abhyankar said that Bharateeyata gives us inspiration for service and culture. Service brings change in society. Service is the key to a great life of a human being and helps in living a selfless life. He also said that the service work carried out by the swayamsevaks of the Sangh has brought a positive change and has shown a new path.General VK Singh said that Sanatan culture inspires service. While praising Seva Bharti, he said that the work of Seva Bharti is incomparable.

Saint Pradyumna said that India can become India in true sense only by doing service work by rising above caste and caste. Describing casteism as a disease, he said that it must be diagnosed. Delhi Sewa Bharti President, Shri Ramesh Aggarwal said that many people including Maharishi Dadhichi, Raja Bali, Danveer Karna and Bhamashah are the great sons of Maa Bharti who sacrificed everything for the service of the nation. Even today, this tradition is being followed in India, on the basis of this only our help and cooperation is reaching lakhs of the underprivileged and neglected through various means.

In the program, people benefited from various projects of Seva Bharti, narrated their experiences and expressed their gratitude towards Sewa Bharti. About 500 selected people who work for the betterment of the society also graced the event.

Sewa Bharti has been continuously engaged in the efforts of public welfare since 1979, taking its motto “Nar Seva, Narayan Seva” as the basis. Some of the projects run by Sewa Bharti are Sevadham Vidya Mandir, Balwadi, Gopaldham, Dialysis and Diagnostic Centre, Mobile-Chikitsalay, Street Children, Mahila Swavalamban, Computer Education, Matrichhaya etc.
