Started in 1950 by Raghunath Bhaskar Chitale (Bhausaheb) and Narsinha Bhaskar Chitale (Rajabhau) as a subsidiary of the Chitale Group of Industries, Pune-based sweet and snacks manufacturer, Chitale Bandhu Chitale Mithaiwale, has carved a niche for itself. The company currently exports its range of products to countries across the European Union, the USA, South East Asia, West Asian countries and Australia. Although Chitale Bandhu is known for its Shrikhand, it is credited for popularising bakarwadi, a Gujarati namkeen, in Maharashtra.
