DRDO AND INDIAN NAVY SUCCESSFULLY FLIGHT-TEST VERTICAL LAUNCH SHORT RANGE SURFACE-TO-AIR MISSILE

DRDO and Indian Navy successfully flight-tested the indigenously designed and developed Vertical Launch Short Range Surface-to-Air Missile (VL-SRSAM) from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur on August 23, 2022. The missiles, equipped with indigenous Radio Frequency seeker, intercepted the target with high accuracy. Raksha Mantri has complimented DRDO, Indian Navy and associated teams on the successful flight trial of VL-SRSAM and stated that the missile will prove to be a force multiplier for the Indian Navy.

 

PINAKA EXTENDED RANGE ROCKET TEST FIRED FROM POKHRAN FIRING RANGES

On August 24, 2022, multiple successful test firing trials of Pinaka extended range rocket, developed by DRDO, were carried out in the Pokhran firing ranges. Developed by DRDO, the Pinaka extended range rockets are produced by private sector firm. The Guided Extended Range Rocket Ammunition has a range of 75 km with an accuracy of 40 meters.
