Prime Minister Narendran Modiji’s visit to Kerala on September 1, 2022, during the festive season of Onam, brought forth a lot of pleasant news and plans for the development of the country as well as Kerala. As usual PM started the speech in Malayalam which raised the enthusiasm of the five thousand strong audience to the skies. He was addressing the mammoth rally at the Kochi International Airport premises. After starting the speech extending Onam greetings to the Keralites, PM lauded Kerala’s cultural diversity, rich tradition and natural beauty. Then he elaborated his government’s development projects.

PM said that the country celebrated Azadi Ka Amrut Varsh for the further prosperity of our Motherland. He stressed his government’s endeavors for Saba Ka Sath, Sab Ka Vikas, Sab Ka Prayas. We are moving towards great heights. PM said, his government’s significant aim is the uplift of the dalits, vanvasis, the poor and the other sidelined people. He told the Keralites that the NDA government is always concerned with the needs of Kerala. He told about two lakhs houses for Kerala under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana; one lakh houses are already completed. Under Ayushman Bharat project 36 lakhs of Keralites got free treatment. We have spent Rs 3,000 crores for ‘the poor people of my Kerala’. Now, the next project is one Medical College in every district. It will pave the way for employment opportunities for the youths and nurses in Kerala.

Modiji said that Azadi Ka Amrut Varsh celebration gave more importance to basic needs. Rs 1 lakh crores was spent for this. Kerala’s connectivity is given much importance. Inauguration of the second phase of Kochi Metro and laying of the foundation stone for the Metro’s extension are great efforts in this direction. Rs 50,000 crores is allocated for the development of highways in Kerala. All villages will get internet connectivity. All Gram Panchayats will get optical fiber connections. Small scale kissans and fishermen will get deserving attention. Three and half lakh families get the benefits of PM Kissan Samman. Fishermen will get Kissan Credit Card too. PM said, more projects will be implemented for social security measures. Fishermen will get modern boats.

PM said, BJP-ruled states undergo fast development. Because, they enjoy double engine regimes. He added that Kerala needs such vehicles. He was stressing the need for BJP rule in the state.

Modiji referred to the Corona period, the worst days during the last 100 years. As a fallout major countries still suffer scarcity of food and severe inflation. But, our country could extend a helping hand to our people to survive. One and half crore people in the state got free ration. We spent Rs 6000 cores for this. We paved our own path during pandemic hence we turned the epicenter of development.

PM drew the people’s attention to the media news of the day regarding the increase in GDP. Job opportunities have increased. Increase in GST is a sign that the country is heading in the right direction. More investments are taking place in the country. Kerala sees BJP as the best performer.

Corruption is the stumbling block on the road to development. It is high time we started a crucial war against corruption. Now the political polarisation takes place in Bharat on the basis of political alignments in favour and against corruption.

PM reminded that it was Rishi Panchami today (September 1, 2022). We are indebted to our great Rishis for their great and noble efforts for the glory of our country. Adi Sankara elevated our country through spirituality. He said, he was going to Sri Sankara Janmasthan temple after the speech. Sri Sankara kicked off a new parampara. PM paid his respects towards great Rishis of Kerala. He was referring to Sree Narayana Guru, Chattambi Swamiji, Ayya Vaikunta Swamy and Mahatma Ayyankali who fought against social evils, untouchability, etc. We draw inspiration from those blessed souls. We will achieve our goals with their blessings.

State president K. Surendran presented “Onakkoti” to PM, a tradition of gifting new clothes to close family members during Onam celebrations.

C.P. Radhakrishnan, BJP national leader and Prabhari for Kerala, and state president K. Surendran shared the dais with PM. PM concluded the speech wishing Keralites all over the world a happy, prosperous and merry Onam.

Then Prime Minister went to visit Sri Adi Sankara Keerthi Sthamha Mandapam, a eight storied tower-like building with pictures and images describing the life of Adi Sankara. Descriptions are pasted along with pictures. Then he went for the darshan at Sree Sankara Temple at Kaladi.

PM’s next programme was at CIAL Auditorium near the Kochi International Airport. There he opened the second phase of Kochi Metro, Development project of three railway stations (Ernakulam Junction, Ernakulam Town & Kollam) and laid foundation stone for the 3rd phase of Kochi Metro. He also inaugurated the construction works for converting meter gauge to broad gauge in southern Kerala which will be beneficial to devotees going for Sabarimala darshan.

There he told that Bharat has constructed 500 km long metro in eight years. Youths and professionals are the major beneficiaries of Metro .

PM told about distributing Rs 70,000 as Mudra Loans so that young people can come out as successful investors.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his ministerial colleagues were on the dais. It is reported that CM sought the help of Modiji to put an end to the traffic issues in the state.
