Harjeet Singh Jaspal, Additional Metropolitan Magistrate of Delhi Rose Avenue Court, has asked the SHO of Tilak Marg Police Station, Delhi, what action has been taken against K.T. Jaleel for his anti-national Facebook post of August 12. Court asked the Police to inform the actions taken so far. Court’s inquiry took place on the basis of a complaint filed by Supreme Court lawyer G.S. Mani belonging to BJP. Police is said to have sought legal advice from the cyber-crime department to investigate. Meanwhile Deli Police has reportedly informed Adv. Mani that Sub Inspector Rahul Ravi has been appointed as the investigating officer in this regard.

Few Days before, Keezhvaipur Police Station in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala, had registered an FIR against Jaleel for his anti-national FB post. It was after a sub court in the district directed the police to file a case in the wake of the plea filed by local RSS leader Arun Mohan.

K.T. Jaleel, an MLA in Kerala Legislative Assembly and former Higher Education Minister in first Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left Democratic Front Ministry, had posted a highly anti-national statement in Facebook on August 12. The post referred to PoK as “Azad Kashmir” and Jammu Kashmir, an integral part of Bharat, as “Indian Occupied Kashmir”. It had glorified Sheikh Abdulla stating that it was him who engineered the accession of Jammu Kashmir. He went to the extent of floating an utter lie that the British had bifurcated Kashmir into two before independence!

When the Hindu and nationalist forces opposed Jaleel’s nonsense he escaped from Delhi to Kerala during middle of the night, obviously to evade a possible action by Delhi Police. In Kerala, he does not have to worry, because, he is the Man Friday of CM and CPM supremo Pinarayi Vijayan who presides the home ministry and police force in Kerala.

However, he withdrew the FB post stating that his post was misinterpreted. But, he never apologised. On other hand, he said on the Floor of House of Kerala Assembly that Pt. Nehru had used the terminology ‘Azad Kashmir’. He said this while participating in a debate on a bill which had nothing to do with the terrible issue he created.
