The court-appointed survey commission, which surveyed the Gyanvapi structure and videograped the process, has found multiple Swastikas on the walls of the structure and has also found a Shivling in the compound.
The findings of the survey were submitted to the court on May 19, and a copy of the report was presented to the petitioners on Monday (May 30).
On a wall inside the structure which has been occupied by the Muslims, a Trishul and a swastika carved into the wall were found.
On a pillar inside the structure, seven lines in ancient Hindi were inscribed, and there was also a two-feet long deity on it.
The survey team also found a Shivling in the compound, which was disguised as a fountain by the Muslims and was used to wash hands and feet before offering prayers in the structure.
The survey commission found that the corner of the west wall of the structure has debris from old temples with the artwork of Goddess, Gods and artwork of lotuses. The foundation stone of the structure has artwork in sindoor colour.
The walls of the storeroom of the structure have multiple swastikas.
The walls of the structure also have pictures of deities carved in them. There is also a triangular structure carved in the wall to place diyas.
The survey was to be completed on May 6 & 7, but the Muslim side did not allow it to happen. Even after the survey was completed, the Muslim side had petitioned the court to not make the survey report public.
A case was filed by Delhi-based Rakhi Singh, Laxmi Devi, Sita Sahu, Manju Vyas and Rekha Pathak on April 18 last year, demanding permission for daily worship of Shringar Gauri, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman and Nandi located on the outer wall of the Gyanvapi mosque. The plea had also requested an order restraining the opponents from causing any damage to the statutes.
Taking up the petition, the court had ordered the court commissioner to carry out a survey of the structure and submit the report. Rakhi Singh had later withdrawn her petition.
A copy of each of the survey report was provided to the petitioners on the condition that it would not be made public.
