Guwahati: Fulfilling the election promises made by BJP leadership, the Assam government on Saturday employed 23000 youths in its various departments.

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Srama officially distributed the appointment letters in a ceremony held in Khanapara field in Guwahati.

Speaking on the occasion CM Dr Sarma said, my driver who is a police constable had to pay 20 thousand to get his appointment letter a few years back. But today all the 23 thousand youth didn’t even pay a single penny to get the government appointment.

We have made the appointment completely transparent and clean, he added. Dr Sarma said, ” you all have got job through a clean and transparent process and now your responsibility is bigger to make our society and system corruption-free.

“Never forget your parents after being a government employee.” CM Dr Sarma further added.

Out of the 23000 appointed on Saturday, 8867 are appointed in the police department, 11063 in the education department, 2429 in the health department and several thousand in other government departments. CM Dr Sarma informed that another 7 thousand will be appointed by June 2022 and written examinations for 26 thousand grades 3 and 4 will be held in July this year.
