Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan will be arrested, according to Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, for reportedly directing hooliganism and sloganeering against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his entourage inside Masjid-e-Nabawi earlier this week.
Imran Khan, the former prime minister, was one of roughly 150 persons booked in a case involving hooliganism at Masjid-e-Nabawi. On the complaint of a resident named Muhammad Naeem, a case was filed against the suspects at the Madina Town Police Station in Faisalabad.
Former information minister Fawad Chaudhry, ex-special assistant to the prime minister for political communication Dr Shahbaz Gill, National Assembly former deputy speaker Qasim Khan Suri, MNA Sheikh Rashid Shafique, British-Pakistani businessman Aneel Mussarat, and others have been named in the case.
According to the FIR, a group of 150 Pakistani member and a London-based group were deployed to Saudi Arabia, where they harassed Pakistani pilgrims and prevented them from performing religious ceremonies at Masjid-e-Nabawi.
The complainant claimed that the incident occurred as a result of a planned conspiracy, citing Sheikh Rashid and Rashid Shafique’s remarks.
