UP CM Yogi Adityanath Fulfills Poll Promise, Orders Constitution of Purohit Kalyan Board

Fulfilling one major poll promise Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made to his electorate, he ordered the constitution of the Purohit Kalyan Board on Wednesday (April 20). The proposed board will take care of the purohits and pujaris in the state.

In its election manifesto, which it called Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra, the BJP had promised the constitution of such a board if it comes to power in the state. CM Yogi Adityanath reiterated the board promise in his poll campaign speech in Rae Bareilly.

On Wednesday (April 20), CM Yogi Adityanath said the cultural rejuvenation of Bharat is happening under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also ordered the formation of district-level committees to look into how the particular district could be put on the country’s cultural map and the world.

The BJP government in Uttar Pradesh has approved multiple projects to develop the Hindu holy sites, including Kashi (Varanasi), Mathura and Prayagraj.

In another major announcement, the chief minister also ordered the setting up of Surdas Brajbhasa Academy, Goswami Tulsidas Awadhi Academy, Keshavdas Bundeli Academy and Sant Kabirdas Bhojpuri Academy. The idea is to provide the ecosystem for the rejuvenation of the cultural heritage.

Since the BJP came to power in the state in 2017, it has been putting special emphasis on the rejuvenation of the cultural centres of the state. On December 13 last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the renovated Kashi Vishwanath Dham.

Multiple development projects have been approved for Ayodhya and Mathura. The grand Ram temple in Ayodhya is expected to be opened for the public by December 2023.

The government is also developing an integrated system where all details about temples will be put in one place. The tourists will also get to know about the history of the temple and the route map.
