Renowned musician Ilaiyaraaja has drawn parallels between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar in a foreword written for a book. Ilayaraja heaped praise on Prime Minister Modi in the foreword for the book titled ‘Ambedkar & Modi: Reformer’s Ideas, Performer’s Implementation’, which is published by Bluekraft Digital Foundation.

Popularly known as “Isaignani” (musical genius), Shri Ilayaraja in the foreword wrote, “The book also brings out some striking parallels between the personalities of Dr BR Ambedkar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Both these striking personalities succeeded against odds that people from socially disempowered sections of society face. Both saw poverty and stifling social structures from close quarters and worked to dismantle them. Both dreamt big for India, but both are also practical men who believe in action rather than mere thought exercises.”

'Ambedkar & Modi – Reformer’s Ideas, Performer’s Implementation' is an academic attempt to bring to the forefront Babasaheb's vision and work across different domains, and how the New India being built by PM Modi is furthering Babasaheb's ideals.

Ilaiyaraaja also said that Dr Ambedkar will be proud of PM Modi for the pro-women legislation like the triple talaq law that the government has brought into place along with schemes like ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ which is aimed at social transformation.

Bluekraft Digital Foundation launched the book on April 14.

According to the publisher, the book is “an academic attempt to bring to the forefront Ambedkar’s vision and work across different domains, and how the New India being built by PM Modi is furthering Ambedkar’s ideals.”
