Imphal: Chief Minister of Manipur, Nongthombam Biren Singh, has warned drug lords to surrender immediately before the government else to face dire consequences.

"I strongly urge all those involved in illicit drug trafficking to surrender yourself or face severe consequences as per the law," Chief Minister warned.

It may be mentioned that the newly formed BJP government has resolved to strengthen its 'War on Drugs' campaign in its first cabinet meeting.

Following this, the Imphal East Police and a team of recently formed Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) arrested one illicit drug dealer called Md Mujibur Rahaman and recovered the huge consignment of contraband drug which includes 67,900 nos. of SP capsules, 350 nos. of WY tablets, 115 nos. of N10 tablets, 135 g of heroin powder, and 8 bottles of cough syrup.
