Imphal: Muslim youth, allegedly supporters of a candidate who was denied ticket of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), slaughtered a cow keeping on a flag of BJP. The 28-second-long video of cow slaughter, taken in front of children, has gone viral on social media platforms on Sunday evening at around 7.45.

In the video, a group of Muslim youths, around 10, slaughtered a white cow keeping on the BJP’s flag and abused the Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh and President of BJP Manipur Pradesh, Adhikarimayum Sarda Devi.

It is further ascertained that the said video has been viral on social media, and it is promoting disharmony and feeling of enmity and alarming for a feeling of insecurity among different cast or community which may disturb the peace and tranquillity or causes prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony between different religious groups, officials of Lilong Police under Imphal West district confirmed the incident.

While confirming the incident, Lilong Police has registered a Suo-moto case under FIR No 10(01)2022 Lilong PS, U/S 153A/429/504 IPC and Section 11 (1) The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 against three individuals Md. Abdul Rashid (28), s/o (L) Md Abdul Rahim of Lilong Chabok Ipham; Nazbul Hussain (38), s/o (L) Akbar of Lilong Tolenkhun and Md. Arif Khan (31), s/o Md. Yakub Ali of Lilong Heinou Makhong.
