Sewa International is a Hindu faith-based, humanitarian, nonprofit service organisation founded in 2003. It is part of a larger movement that started in India in 1989 and is currently providing humanitarian services in more than 20 countries.

New Delhi: In its rankings for year 2021, Benevity Inc., the leading provider of global corporate purpose software, has ranked the Sewa International at 10th position among the charitable organisations supported by companies and their employees in 2021. It’s a big jump for the Sewa International as it was ranked 375 in 2020 and 690 in 2019.

Expressing deep gratitude, Shri Arun Kankani, President, Sewa International, said, “We are grateful to these companies and their thousands of employees who thought it fit to offer their generous support to Sewa International. They saw in us both our dedication to serving humanity as well as the will, the enterprise, and the commitment to delivering support efficiently, quickly, and professionally in a time of crisis by our volunteers and mission-oriented staff. This recognition of our work and of our standing will energize us to rededicate our efforts to come to the aid of society in times of crises here in the US and around the world.”

Sewa International, founded in 2003, is a Hindu faith-based, humanitarian, non-profit service organisation. It is part of a larger movement that started in India in 1989 and is currently providing humanitarian services in more than twenty countries.

The organisation is known globally for serving humanity irrespective of race, colour, religion, gender or nationality.

The deadly second wave of Covid-19 hit India in April last year. There was a sudden spike in demands for medical Oxygen, hospital beds, medicines etc. The Sewa International was at the forefront providing humanitarian services to the needy.

Sandeep Khadkekar, Sewa’s Vice President for Marketing and Fund Development, said,“Non-profits supporting India’s Covid-19 crisis received a groundswell of support, including Sewa International. Our earnest thanks to Benevity Inc. for keeping track of these trends and identifying Sewa’s increasing support from corporations and their people.”

In its vision statement, the Sewa International says “We aspire to be the pre-eminent, Hindu faith based, humanitarian organization that serves selflessly, and with compassion to create a positive impact. We envision and strive for a world in which all people live in harmony, free from suffering.”

Even a cursory look at their activities in the last two decades is enough to say the organisation has been brilliantly guided by its vision statement.
