Union Minister Shah said initiatives like Kisan trains have been very innovative and helpful mechanisms for the state and over 1.36 lakh houses got electricity for the first time since independence under PM's Saubhagya scheme.
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday (January 21) urged the youths of Tripura to join the developmental journey of the state and the country. This message from the Home Minister came in a special video message on the occasion of the Statehood Day of the northeastern state of Tripura.
"Ayie Tripura ke vikas yatra mein judiye (Please come forward and join the developmental journey of Tripura)," Shah said. "It is also right time to join the developmental journey of India under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he said.
Shah said in 2047 when India celebrates its 100th anniversary, Tripura might be a small state, but it can play a major role in India's developmental journey and emerge as one of the 'most developed states' in the country.
Tripura was first recognised as a Union Territory on November 1, 1956, and subsequently, with the sustained efforts and struggle of the people, it gained full statehood on January 21, 1972, as per the North-East Reorganisation Act.
Shah said a lot of work has been done in the last three years by the BJP government in the state to help improve people's living conditions, infrastructures, and roads. He said initiatives like Kisan trains have been very innovative and helpful mechanisms. Under Prime Minister's Saubhagya scheme, over 1.36 lakh houses got electricity for the first time since independence.
Earlier in his special address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has underlined that the three years of meaningful development took place under the BJP government. He also said Tripura is becoming a land of opportunities under the aegis of relentless efforts of the 'double
engine' governments.
Highlighting the state's excellent performance on many of the development parameters, the Prime Minister said the state is fast becoming the hub of the trade corridor through the construction of the connectivity infrastructure.
