Dr. Shriram Chauthaiwale Awarded Prestigious Madhava Mathematics Award

Dr Chauthaiwale, the All-India Convener of the Department of Vedic Mathematics under the New Delhi-based Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas, has been working in the field of education for over four decades.

Dr Shriram Chauthaiwale has been awarded the 10th Madhava Mathematics Award instituted by the Madhava Mathematical Center.

A former mathematics teacher at Amravati University, Maharashtra, Dr. Chauthaiwale is currently the All-India Convener of the Department of Vedic Mathematics under the New Delhi-based Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas.

Through various posts in different institutes, he is serving the Vedic Mathematics. He is Member of Vidya Bharati All India Vedic Mathematical Council, Member of Indian Society for the History of Mathematics. 

The Chief Faculty of Teacher Training Program in Vedic Mathematics has been working as a subject expert at the Art of Living International Center, Bangalore, to promote Indian Mathematics.

Dr. Chauthaiwale has published more than 30 research papers in national and international journals. The Varahamihiran's article on Gandhashastra was recently published in the Springer Journal.

He holds faculty positions at various universities including at Nyas, Vidya Bharati, Art of Living, JNU, Maratha University, Kalidasa University and Bhiwani University. He has also authored six books on Indian mathematics and has written many popular articles in different newspapers and magazines.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has also aired a 10-episode TV series on Vedic Mathematics for the Jnanaranjan channel. The award will be presented to Dr. Chauthaiwale at a ceremony in January.  The Union Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Electronics & Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar will be the chief guest at the event.

The previous recipients of the prestigious award include Dr. George Gheverghese Joseph, Prof Ramasubramani, IIT Mumbai, Prof VPN Nampoori, Cochin University, Dr. Venkiteshwara Pai, IISER Pune.
