The girl left a four-page suicide note in which she said she was the victim of love jihad and mentioned the other girls who, too, became the victims of love jihad.

A 25-year Engineering graduate girl from Ramanathapuram has fallen victim to love jihad in Tamil Nadu. The victim, Sowmya, belonged to the Devendra Kula Vellalar community, was a resident of Ramanathapuram and worked in a private school in the same area for some time as a teacher.

Sheik Mohammed, son of Anwar, promised to marry her and they became lovers. Believing his promise, she allowed him to have physical relations. When she insisted on marriage, he stopped meeting her. His family moved to Tiruchi in 2019. Sheik not only refused to marry her but also blocked her mobile number. She tried to meet and speak with him but was unsuccessful.

Unable to bear this, the girl took the extreme step of killing herself. The girl on 9th December committed suicide by hanging at her house. She left a four-page suicide note in which she said she was the victim of love jihad. Cases should be filed against Sheik for rape, mental torture, cheating and other appropriate sections. She mentioned there were other girls who, too, became the victims of love jihad.

Since the victim has mentioned love jihad, the police, preferably NIA, should thoroughly investigate his background to find out how many girls were cheated in the same way. The victim also wanted Sheik, his father Anwar, and her uncle, who was behind the love jihad episode, to be booked under law. Kenikkarai police registered a case against the four and are investigating the case.
The police arrested Sheik after protests and pressure from Hindu Munnani.

Love jihad is a method adopted by Muslims to entice beautiful young girls from well-doing families and ditch them after making them pregnant or having sexual relations. Hindu, Sikh, Christian girls are being targeted through love jihad. By love jihad, they want to achieve two things. First is making the girls pregnant and adding one more member to their population. The second is the assault on Hindu culture. They adopt Narcotic jihad also to spoil the youths besides jihad to eliminate Hindus. As usual, none of the media in the state considered publishing the suicide of the girl–a love jihad victim.
