In yet another attempt to appease the Muslim community in Kerala, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has once again publically supported the Halal system. Halal system which is itself discriminatory has become a talking point in Kerala. There were viral videos of Muslim chefs spitting on food to make it Halal, after which the public started to avoid hotels with Halal signboard.
The CM accused 'çertain organisations' of mixing religion with food. Contradictory, Halal is the system which mixes religion with food. Áfter facing setback in the restaurant business, the Muslim restaurant owners had to remove the Halal signboards to attract people.
With CPM eying Muslim votes, the party is in a hurry to takeup all the issues being raised by Islamist outfits.
