A Photo Exhibition was Arranged Showcasing the Hroic Deed of the Forces

Guwahati: In commemoration of the celebration of the Golden Jubilee year of liberation of Bangladesh, a Photo cum Weapon Exhibition and cultural program was organised by 47 Bn BSF under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier to showcase heroic deeds of valiant Bordermen during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971, at Rupeshwar Roy Higher Sec School, Bara Madhusudan under Block Sitalkuchi of Coochbehar (WB).

Brig R S Rawat (Retd), VSM, DIG, SHQ BSF Gopalpur inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of Sh Upendra Rai, Comdt 47 Bn BSF. A documentary film and photo exhibition highlighting the role of BSF during the 1971 war was also shown to students, and the students of the border area presented a cultural programme with the theme of patriotism. At the conclusion, the chief guest felicitated the participants to boost up their morale.

 Besides these, a civic action program was also organised to connect the poor and downtrodden border populace with the mainstream. 35 nos of Pesticide spray were distributed among needy farmers of the border area during the civic action program at Rupeshwar Roy Higher Sec School, Bara Madhusudan under Block Sitalkuchi of Coochbehar West Bengal.

People of the border area, including children, thronged in large numbers to witness the exhibition and were highly overwhelmed to see the glorious past of Border men.

The local village president and members, and the villagers have thanked and appreciated the aforesaid Weapon Exhibition, photo gallery, cultural programme and civic action program. Nevertheless, the Border Security Force is dedicated to the Security of Borders of India and providing help to the border population as its guiding principle and ethos.
