The South Asian affiliate of the terrorist organization ISIS, Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), has warned about the mass persecution of Hindus in India.

On the cover of its propaganda magazine, Voice of Hind, it has the famous Murudeshwara Shiva statue. An ISIS flag has replaced the head of Shiva with the caption ‘It is time to break the false Gods’.

ISIS has been producing its propaganda magazine since February last year. Earlier the Indian security agencies believed the magazine was produced in Pakistan or Afghanistan. To the surprise of the security agencies, Kashmir link of the magazine was unearthed in July this year.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested three youths from Kashmir, Umar Nisar, Tanveer Ahmad Bhat and Rameez Ahmad Lone, for their involvement in the production and distribution of the India centric magazine of ISIS.

They were running call centers like setups for doing the production and distribution work. They had hired people for designing, editing and packaging the digital magazine. Individuals were paid 15000-20000 rupees for the work.

The NIA traced the other handlers of the magazine in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives and Afghanistan.

The first issue of the magazine had Delhi lawyer Mehmood Pracha on its cover. Pracha is the lawyer of many Delhi Anti-Hindu riots accused.

The magazine discusses how to establish Islamic rule in India and how different socio-political factors can be used to reach that goal.

In August this year, the NIA arrested one Jufri Jawhar Damudi from Karnataka’s Bhatkal for translating and distributing the Voice of Hind magazine in South India.

ISIS, a dreaded terrorist organisation, led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, quickly established itself in Iraq-Syria. Baghdadi blew himself up on October 27, 2019, when surrounded by US forces. With his death, ISIS dismantled, and its terrorists spread across the globe to carry out individual attacks.

With the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in August this year, the Indian security agencies feared Afghanistan would once again become a haven for different terrorist groups, including ISIS.

The local affiliates of ISIS issued statements supporting terrorists in Kashmir after the fall of Kabul in August this year.

The Narendra Modi government abrogated Article 370 of the Indian Constitution on August 5, 2019, and reorganised the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir into two union territories Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh. Article 370 of the Indian Constitution provided a special status in the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir.
