Prabal singh judev washing the feet of the returnees in pathalgaon Jashpur
In a major development in the Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh, more than 1200 people from around 300 families have returned to the Sanatana Dharma after being converted to Christianity through different illegal means. Son of former central minister Dilip Singh Judeo and current BJP state body member Prabal Singh Judev welcomed the returnees by washing their feet in a ceremony attended by thousands.
Sharing his views about the ceremony, Prabal Judev said that protecting Hindutva has been the only resolution of his life. He was delighted to see that today many people have returned to their original religion. Considered as one of the remotest areas of Chhattisgarh, this tribal-dominated belt has always been on the target of Christian missionaries. Home to none other than the second largest church in the continent, Jashpur has a mixed population of Christians and Hindus.
Most of the people who made a comeback into the Sanatan dharma hails from the Sarai Pala Besana region of Jashpur. While explaining the illegal activities of the missionaries in this tribal-dominated region, Prabal Judev claimed that the missionaries always target people from poor economic backgrounds and convert them in the name of providing financial assistance.
On this occasion, people who returned to the Sanatana Dharma accused the missionaries of spreading fallacy about the Hindu Dharma. One of the men informed the Organiser that their ancestors were promised financial help by the missionaries and were told that all their sins shall be eradicated by practising Christianity.
A section of people who returned to Sanatana Dharma informed their ancestors were converted about three generations ago due to lack of education and poor economic state. But things have changed, and there has been a growing sense of awareness among the tribal people who are briskly returning to their original practising religion.
This ceremony was organised on the last day of a two-day holy yajna organised by the Hindu society in the Khuntapani area of Pathalgaon of Jashpur, and Prabal Pratap Singh Judev of the Jashpur Royal family was the chief guest. On this auspicious occasion, Arya Samaj people, who have been working tirelessly to uplift Hindu tribes in the region, were also among the attendees.
