The Labour MP Claudia Webbe, who has now been expelled from the party, harassed Michelle Merritt for about two years and also threatened her with acid attack.

The Labour MP Claudia Webbe, who has now been expelled from the party, was sentenced on Thursday (November 4) for harassing Michelle Merritt for about two years and also threatening her with acid attack.

Webbe frequently spreads fake news about ‘farmers’ protest in India.

As recently as on Saturday (November 6), she posted on social media platform Twitter “The BJP must stop physically attacking Indian Farmers. The world is watching you.”

‘Farmers’ have been protesting since July last year against three progressive farm laws passed by the Union government. There has not been one incident of attack on any farmer.

On the contrary, protesting ‘farmers’ have indulged in criminal activities on multiple occasions.

On January 26 this year, when the country was celebrating Republic Day, the protesting ‘farmers’ had asked for permission to take out a tractor rally to Delhi. The government not only granted the permission but made alternate routed available to them.

While marching to Delhi on tractors, ‘farmers’ indulged in massive rioting and damaged many public and private properties. They also vandalised the Red Fort in Delhi.

One ‘farmer’ died when the tractor he was driving overturned. The vested interest spread the fake news that he died of police firing. Two autopsies and multiple videos proved the vested interests wrong.

On October 15, protesting ‘farmers’ not only lynched a 35-year-old Dalit Lakhbir Singh from Punjab, but also mutilated him. His body parts were hanged from a police barricade at Singhu border to teach others a ‘lesson’.

A week after this, on October 21, protesting ‘farmers’ badly thrashed a poultry worker Manoj Paswan when he refused to give chicken free of cost to protesting Nihangs.

On June 17 this year, the protesting ‘farmers’ burnt another farmer alive at Tikri border. The victim Mukesh succumbed to his injuries.

In yet another ghastly act by the protesting ‘farmers’, a 26-year-old young woman from Kolkata, who had come to Tikri border in solidarity with protesting ‘farmers’, was gang-raped by the ‘farmers’. The victim, who also contracted Covid-19, died in a Haryana hospital on April 30.

On all the occasions, the protesting ‘farmers’ have distanced themselves from the crime.

On the contrary, there has been not one incident of government brutality on protesting ‘farmers’.

On several occasions, the intelligence agencies have alerted that the protest has been hijacked by the Khalistanis and other anti-national forces.

MP Webbe, who is now independent MP, have been sharing fake news with ‘intention’ to incite violence. Labour's national campaign co-ordinator Shabana Mahmood called for Webbe’s resignation. She added the party would push for recall petition if Webbe did not quit the parliament.
