ABVP’s Trichy office, located in prime area in B 47, Cauvery park, Mala Chinthamani, near Chaitram Bus terminal, Trichy was attacked by unknown goons. The press release by ABVP stated that “the office was under attack on 22nd October at around 5.30 pm by some unknown goons. Stones, Sands and flamable oil substances were used to vandalise our office.”

ABVP alleged that the goons planned the attack to frighten its Karyakartas, who are doing a commendable job with their membership campaigns. “Also, active membership is going on for ABVP in various parts of the city and many students are actively joining in our organisation. Few anti national, anti social and anti democratic organisations were very much disappointed with our mass membership campaign. As a result, their own style of violence were thrown against us,” the press release added.

ABVP has reported this attack to the nearby police station (Fort) and got the CRS copy. ABVP alleged that DMK party members support communist Naxals organisations like RSYF, and the state government is allowing anti-national elements to crush the democratic space.

All ABVP related activities are through this office. The office is also home to 7 students from different parts of Tamil Nadu who are doing their higher studies in the same city. ABVP south Tamilnadu Secretary Ms.Susila also resides very close to this place. ABVP performed all welfare activities in the region during this COVID pandemic period from this office.

Against this violent attack, ABVP has called for state-wide protest demonstrations.
