In a major move by the Jammu and Kashmir administration, 26 hardcore terror detainees booked under J&K Public Safety Act, 1978 were shifted to the central prison in Agra, UP from various jails in J&K. A special IAF flight was arranged for the transportation of these terror detainees. These radicals are believed to be involved in various terror related incidents in Kashmir.
An order of Home department from civil Secretariat Srinagar reads that “In exercise of the powers conferred under section 10-B of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act 1978, the government hereby directs to remove/shift the below mentioned detenues who have been detained under the provision of Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act 1978 from their present places of lodgment to central jailAgra, Uttar Pradesh with immediate effect.”
