The North East Chronicle clubs the stories of the brave unsung heroes of the NorthEast.

Guwahati: The brave warriors of the North East always remain unsung and unwritten in the history of India's freedom struggle against the Britishers. There are scores of warriors and freedom fighters who fought courageously and laid their life for an independent Bharat.

An attempt to club the stories of these brave unsung heroes of NorthEast is made by the New Delhi based Northeast Sanstha. The North East Chronicle, which glorifies the unsung freedom fighters of this region, was inaugurated on Sunday (October 3).

The publication of this periodical journal was stopped due to the pandemic situation. But it has been relaunched from this quarter of the year. The newly published edition of the NorthEast Chronicle was inaugurated in Guwahati by Akhil Bhartiya Prachar Pramukh of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Shri Sunil Amrekar, Sah Prachar Pramukh Narendra Kumar, Kshetra Prachark Ullash Kulkarni and Prachar Pramukh of Uttar Assam prant Kishor Shivam. Edited by Lt. General (Rtd) I Nishikant Singh in this edition focuses on the Anglo-Adi war in Arunachal Pradesh. Group Captain (Rtd.) Mohonto Panging (VSM) briefly discussed the four wars fought by Adi tribes of Arunachal, where the brave tribal warriors defeated the British force repeatedly. Writer Amlandeep Das describes the huge contributions of the freedom fighters of Assam in India's freedom struggle. He describes how the Ahom King Gomdhar Konwar raised the 3000 men army and declared independence in the Jorhat district.

The British ruler sent Konwar to Kalapani for his rebellion. The Naga queen Rani Gaidinliu, who was known as the hill's daughter, her freedom struggle and bravery against the British is also briefly described in this edition of the North East Chronicle. Dr. Ankita Dutta writes the story of the freedom struggle of the Lushai Hills of North East India.

Writer Karunamoy Sinha elaborates on the sacrifices given by the freedom fighters of Garo Hills of Meghalaya to India's freedom struggles. The bravery of the king of the Hima Nongkhlaw of Meghalaya, who fought against the British to save his kingdom, is also described by K S Lyngdoh. War against the British by U Kiang Nangbah, the Jaintia freedom fighter, is also included in this edition.

The editor has briefly written the famous Battle of Thoubal, the Anglo- Manipuri war. The editor of the North East Chronicle briefly describes how the brave Manipuri warrior fought against the British and how the Manipuri freedom fighters were sent to Kalapani by British rulers.
