Former US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard said it was the Islamist ideology which was fueling terrorist attacks across the globe. And also, it was the Islamist ideology which inspired terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre in 2001.
“Let us #NeverForget that it was the Islamist ideology which inspired the terrorist attacks and declaration of war against America on 9/11. And it is this Islamist ideology that continues to fuel terrorist attacks around the world and …”, she posted on Twitter on Sunday (September 12).
She added “is the foundation for so-called “Islamic” countries like Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, and Saudi Arabia’s discriminatory policies against Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Atheists, etc.”
On September 11 in 2001, four coordinated terror attacks in the United States by Al-Qaeda brought down the twin towers of the World Trade Centre. US defence headquarters, Pentagon, was also attacked.
Then Al-Qaeda Chief Osama bin Laden had declared war on the US.
When the Taliban, who were ruling Afghanistan in 2001, did not hand over bin Laden to the US, it declared war on Afghanistan.
The Taliban were thrown out of Kabul.
The 20-year-old war ended on August 31 this year when the US withdrew from Afghanistan and the Taliban captured Kabul.
Many global terrorists are now ministers in the new Afghanistan government. Sirajuddin Haqqani, a terrorist who carries USD 10 million bounty, is the new interior minister in Afghanistan.
